Miguel Could Actually Be More Likable than Kevin.
People that follow the series “This Is Us” are starting to think that Miguel is growing on them, a statement they never thought they would ever use. However, this is what is happening as in (Season 2, Episode 11) as the person family is sitting in a circle with an addiction specialist guiding Kelvin on how to start a group dialogue. Normally, they would be holding a family get-together at Randal’s sprawling mansion or at Kate and Toby’s sweet apartment.
What leads to this therapy is a drunk Kelvin driving at a high speed with Tess at the back seat. It was possible for the writers to make that an accident with Tess gone but they somehow knew that we would not take it. Tess’s parents had just been through a heartbreak of having to re-unite their foster daughter to her biological mom and that meant that Tess is all they had.
This is probably why a cop pulled him up and when we see him again, he had been at the rehab for three months trying to fix the damage he had done to himself and the people that loved him.
This is why we are having the Pearson’s meeting which is a family thing meaning that Beth, Miguel and Toby are not invited. They therefore had to look for a place to spend the afternoon, a bar, that Toby thinks is ironic. During the session, the very deeply emotions of Kevin always feeling ousted by the family comes to head. Given the fact that everyone in dealing with one thing or the other, he is left to feel as a third wheel that he says lead s to him seek for the attention and admiration room the media that he never got as a youth.
Basically, the basic law of attraction is what is at play here as Kevin is looking for what he never got to fill in the void but it never does. Miguel, the new one to the group is married to his best friend’s wife although he is all sweet to the Pearson’s family. The wife of Jack Pearson who is a “no fly zone” for everyone. Miguel knows his place which he is okay with and knows that to change it, it would require the reversal of the very fabric that weaves together the Pearson just like Kelvin. Their difference comes with the fact that Kevin will keep untying it until he makes amends and heals while on the other hand Miguel might just be the person to put it back together.
